Day 2
Todays quote of the day courtesy of Karrah: "Look at this place, it's all shriveled up and dead".
Today we went through Reno all the way to Yerington. We didn’t make it very far.
We went and did some light shopping in Reno. It was hot when we got up this morning and we realized that we had prepared and packed for the worst, and coldest. None of us had packed any shorts.
After picking up some shorts, we headed to the old mining town of Virginia City, Nevada. I am thankful for shorts being on clearance, we were more comfortable and cool.
Got some great pics of us on the town, but they’re all upside down and I can’t seem to fix them on the laptop. I’m so not computer savy.
We went to the cheap museum in town and learned about the history of it, saw lots of cool old stuff.
The road to and from Virginia City was called “6 Mile Canyon Road” and was appropriately named. It was a gorgeous curvy thing up the mountains, breathtaking views.
The way back down was just as pretty, just in awe of the scenery here!
We spent the evening with family in Yerington, Nevada. Was great to see a familiar smiling face. Love you grandpa Mac! Oh, and you too Uncle Ron, Aunt Candy, Uncle Al, & Aunt Nola. Thanks for your hospitality!
