Wow. 30 days trapped in an RV with my family. You know you're a good fit when we're still alive!
We spent the day walking around old town Santa Fe. The Indians sit on the side walk in front of the old governors palace selling their handmade treasures.
Interesting architecture, gorgeous sun sets, beautiful artifacts.
Heading to Aztec, NM to stay the night and see the ruins there tomorrow.

Day 29
We did the Petroglyph National Monument outside of Albuquerque today, that was neat. Great weather for the hike and BEAUTIFUL views from the top! Looks kinda like aliens had been communicating with the Indians based on some of the drawings....
We went in Santa Fe this afternoon and took a tour of Loretta Chapel and it's magnificent staircase. Wow.
Staying in Santa Fe tonight at a local Wal-Mart and heading to Bandellier (ruins) tomorrow.

Day 28
Today we did City of Rocks State Park in New Mexico. Nice and warm here! Didn't get to see much of the park because the rangers scared d'Ete with stories of rattlesnakes...
Headed to Albuquerque to do the Petroglyphs National Monument tomorrow.
On our way to Santa Fe, we saw a town where EVERY (not kidding at all) house and store had chilli's hanging from them. They were everywhere!! We saw so many cotton fields in the Carolinas and we meant to stop and pick some but forgot, so when we saw a cotton field here in NM, we pulled over and we each got to pick our own bunch (or whatever the technical term is) of cotton! Our first stop in Santa Fe was Loretto Chapel, to see the miraculous staircase. If you haven't heard the story of the stairs, you should look it up, very interesting!

Day 27
Slept somewhere in the mountains almost to Alamogordo, NM last night so we were only about 30 miles from White Sands National Monument where we spent the day.
So, so neat here. Over 250 square miles of white sand dunes. It's the most perfect, softest sand ever! And it goes for what looks like eternity! We spent hours sledding down the dunes in the sun. Michael and d'Ete tried to make a carved out run, that took awhile. And no, it didn't work that great.
We are headed to City of Rocks state park in Faywood, NM for much needed showers and to stay the night. Will enjoy the park tomorrow.

Day 26
Went to Carlsbad Caverns in New Mexico today.
WOW.
I think combined, we took over 400 pictures. We went 700-850 feet underground and walked about 3 miles in doing so. We took an elevator up. It took us 1 minute at 9 miles an hour to reach the top.
The girls each got their Junior Ranger certification and pin after completing a booklet during the walk.
It was nothing less than amazing.
We are headed from Carlsbad, NM to Alamogordo, NM to visit their Wal-mart and stay the night. It's off to White Sands Park tomorrow!
We hit up a touristy shop a few miles from the caverns for these great photo ops

Day 24
We got JRs first haircut done today in San Antonio, Texas.
Instead of paying $20 to park in a lot right around the Alamo (we'd take up two spots), we found metered parking a couple of blocks away. We paid $1.50 to park all day and got a brisk walk in, enjoying the sunshine.
We did The Alamo & it's grounds as well as the river walk. We walked back from the river walk through the city and saw some beautiful buildings!
Don't know what it is, but we were SOOO tired. We found a Walmart around 630p and hunkered down for the night. Early to bed....

Day 23
Just realized that my days are off, I skipped something somewhere.
We took the day off today and enjoyed something us pacific northwesterners don't get to. The beach. It was sunny, warm, and not crowded.
We had a picnic on the beach, on an island, off the Gulf of Mexico. It is late November and the Teitzels are boogie boarding!!
We're leaving Galveston tonight, heading to San Antonio to do The Alamo tomorrow.
